When we decided to open our Instagram account and this blog, we had in mind to honor Versailles. We wanted to share with you our discoveries, good addresses and promote the merchants and craftsmen who work daily for the dynamism of the city.
What could be more logical then today than to create a new category on the blog which highlights the favorite addresses of the people of Versailles?
We open the ball with Karelle, from the Instagram account @VersaillesKitchen. Originally from the region and passionate about gourmet addresses, she shares with her community her favorites and discoveries of Versailles and its surroundings.

Les Toqués : tasting place and Italian grocery store
‘Les Toqués’ tops the list of his favorite Italian trattorias. What won her over at Les Toqués was inevitably the quality of the ingredients on offer, whether on the plate or in the grocery/deli section. For example, the gorgonzola offered by the house is neither more nor less than an award-winning gorgonzola Best Gorgonzola in the World, which immediately won the heart of Karelle, a true fan of blue cheese. At Les Toqués, VersaillesKitchen feels like home, in this intimate and family business, where you can always find good gourmet advice from the owners.

Au chant du Coq : Japanese-inspired pastry
Versailles is full of pastries for our greatest pleasure, but it is on the establishment ‘Au chant du Coq’ that Karelle admits to having a crush. A pastry shop run by a Japanese chef whose creations revisit the greatest classics, with combinations each more original than the next. Her favourites? The tasty kouign-amann (pastry from Brittany), the vanilla and almond cake and their galette (the photo of which we share with you just below).

Le XV : a fresh start and homemade burgers
When we mentioned a good burger address in Versailles, Karelle immediately thought about the XV. Since its change of ownership, the XV has proudly honored burgers. They are 100% homemade, including the buns! Karelle confided to us her weakness for the Savoyard recipe, which we really want to run to try as well…

The Good Food : the perfect address for hearty burgers
You may have known the food truck ‘The Good Food’ in the past, which has now become a restaurant in the centre of Versailles. The Good Food is Karelle’s address par excellence to enjoy a good hearty burger. The desire of this restaurant has always been to offer dishes based on ingredients from the shops and producers closest to Versailles. We salute the move!

Le Pit’s BBQ : for a taste trip to the USA
The Pit’s BBQ, an address that smells like the United States, just a few steps from the Marché Notre-Dame square. Karelle told us how exotic this address was, with Texan flavors dishes that you can’t find anywhere else! The specialty of this Versailles address, as you will have understood, is the Texas barbecue. A meat smoking technique that lasts several hours and gives an incomparable wood flavor. Take-out only!

Les Badauds : cocktails and terrace close to the castle
Karelle’s big favorite is undoubtedly the large terrace of the bar ‘Les Badauds’ a few meters from the entrance to the Palace of Versailles. On the program: beers, a nice wine list and above all original cocktails. Like for example the ’Basil Smash’ cocktail, super original with its basil flavor. Karelle evoked us with nostalgia the summer and the beautiful evenings organized by the bar with sometimes DJ sets.

Le Pincemin : refined and tasty cuisine
A must in Versailles, thanks in particular to the notoriety of chef Xavier Pincemin (+1 million subscribers on TikTok). The chef has conquered the hearts of the people of Versailles (including the one of Karelle) with his restaurant ‘Le Pincemin’ which offers refined cuisine based on fresh produce.

La Pirogue : the essential cocktail bar
The unmissable Versailles cocktail bar which has been offering an impressive cocktail menu since 1997. ‘La Pirogue’ is a real warm spot where it is good to meet up with friends. We appreciate the accuracy of the cocktails with unbeatable value for money. And we even made an article about it!
